15-Year-Old Javits Frimpong Shot Dead in the Bronx
15-year-old Ghanaian student Javits Frimpong was tragically shot and killed while walking to school in the Bronx. His father suspects school bullying.

A 15-year-old boy's walk to school ended in tragedy Thursday morning. Javits Frimpong was fatally shot in the Bronx, leaving his family completely devastated. He had only moved to the United States from Ghana about a year ago. His father brought him to New York hoping to give him a better life and more educational opportunities.
The shooting happened just before 9:30 a.m. near East 171st Street and Crotona Place in the Claremont neighborhood. Police found Javits with a single gunshot wound to his abdomen. Emergency responders rushed the teenager to St. Barnabas Hospital, but doctors couldn't save his life.
This wasn't a random act of street violence. Thomas Frimpong, the boy's father, strongly believes bullying led directly to his son's murder. He revealed that Javits frequently complained about being targeted by other students at school. Just days before the shooting, the school principal confirmed to Thomas that Javits was innocent in a recent campus confrontation. The boy was simply defending himself against aggressors who were subsequently suspended.
Javits was a quiet, intelligent teenager who dreamed of becoming a doctor. His mother still lives in Ghana, making this sudden loss even harder for the family to process. Thomas, who works hard as a local taxi driver, said his final conversation with Javits was just a simple reminder to get to school on time. Instead of planning for his son's bright future, he is now preparing for a funeral.
The local community is completely heartbroken. Neighbors expressed deep shock over the daylight violence. They pointed out that a young boy doing exactly what he was supposed to do was gunned down without mercy. Parents in the area are now rightfully worried about their own children walking these same streets.
The New York Police Department is actively hunting for three suspects. Witnesses saw three teenagers running away from the scene immediately after the gunshot. They were dressed entirely in black and wore blue surgical masks to hide their faces. As of now, police haven't made any arrests.
Authorities are pleading with the public for help. Anyone who saw something needs to speak up. The NYPD Crime Stoppers hotline is taking anonymous tips to help track down the shooters. A father lost his precious son, and those responsible need to face justice. They shouldn't get to walk free after cutting a 15-year-old's life so brutally short.
