Universally crowned the "Queen of Afrobeats," she is celebrated for her enchanting vocals, dynamic stage presence, and immense contribution to placing African music on the world map.
Born on February 5, 1980, in Isale Eko, Lagos State, Tiwa's family relocated to London when she was 11 years old. Growing up in the UK, she played trombone in her school's orchestra band and provided backup vocals for global artists like George Michael and Mary J. Blige.
She attended the University of Kent, graduating with a degree in Accounting. However, determined to conquer the music world, she later enrolled at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, graduating with a degree in Professional Music.
Moving back to Nigeria in 2012, Tiwa took the industry by storm with her debut single Kele Kele Love. She released massive albums like Once Upon a Time and Celia.
